Why is it necessary to clean makeup brushes?

Whether used occasionally, once a week or several times a day, professional makeup brushes should be treated with care to maintain their excellent performance. In addition, frequent cleaning can reduce, to the point of completely eliminating, the risks of irritation and bacteria that can lurk between the bristles. That is why it is a good idea to remove traces of make up and clean makeup brushes regularly.

When and how to clean make-up brushes

The best choice for preserving the quality of your professional makeup brushes for a long time is to clean them after each use. We recommend washing your brushes by pouring household alcohol on a cloth and carefully rubbing the bristles until they are completely free of makeup. In this way, you will be able to sanitize and reuse your brush in a short time.

If, on the other hand, you use your makeup brushes several times during the day, you can do a daily cleaning lighter after each use and a deepercleaning every 3 to 4 days so as to keep them always looking their best.
For a deep cleaning you can wash your brushes with warm water and a little shampoo, or with a mild soap, lightly rubbing the bristles on the palm of your hand. You will see the color that has accumulated inside them gradually release.

Always remember to pay attention to the handle of the brush when cleaning, avoiding dipping it in water so as not to damage its surface.

Once you have finished this step, repeat if necessary and let the brush air dry, without further "stressing" it with a hair dryer or towel.

In case your brush has lost its original shape, you can give it back its silhouette with a gentle re-shaping: use mild soap and reposition the bristles by helping with gentle finger pressure. Let the brush dry without rinsing it for a few days and wash it gently once it regains its original shape.
