Fan brush: features, functionality and how to use MESAUDA

All brushes are not the same! Let's find out together what the fan brush is and how to use it.

Today we are talking about one of the most used and beloved makeup accessories for women, indispensable for achieving flawless make-up: the fan brush. Here are all its features and how to use it.

Features of the fan brush

The fan brush has a rather strange and peculiar shape, definitely different from all others: it is flattened, the bristles spread from left to right, just to resemble the shape of a fan. There are two types of fan-shaped make-up brushes: thin or large. The former is smaller and with fewer bristles arranged in a single row, extremely thin and light; the latter, on the other hand, is a brush with a larger handle and a significantly larger number of bristles. It is good to differentiate between the two types of fan brushes as, while similar, they have different functionalities.

Fan brush: what it is used for

Here are the main features of both products:

  • Thin fan brush. The smaller product basically serves to remove excess product and lighten the effect, especially of Powder, Highlighter, blush and foundation, both mineral and powder. Thanks to its fine, lightweight bristles you will be able to gently remove these excess powders. A second important function that can be performed by the thin brush is that of spreading the'Highlighter: in this way you will get an extremely natural and light effect. Precisely because of the sparse and fine bristles you will go to precisely define and enhance certain and specific areas of the face.
  • Large fan brush. The large fan brush, on the other hand, is ideal to use for spreading blush and performing the contouring technique. Thanks to its flat shape and full bristles, it defines areas of the face accurately, allowing the creation of a perfect oval.

How to use the fan brush

The use of the fan brush is very simple, specifically:

  • Thin brush. All you have to do is gently swipe the product over your forehead, cheeks and chin, using movements from right to left and from bottom to top. This way you will remove the surface layer of excess powder, but without ruining the makeup base. You will see the excess powder "fly off" sideways.
  • Large brush. Pick up the Bronzing Powder with the brush and then shake it to remove excess. With small movements pass it over the areas to be darkened and finally, after washing it dry thoroughly, pass it over the same areas again to blend it and create the desired effect.
